We spent the day in Salem visiting Diane's Uncle Carl, Aunt Doris, and cousins Marsha and Cindy (husband Brian joined us for dinner).
Carl and Doris moved into an independent living center last May after Doris had a life threatening episode of a low pulse, heart stopping and restarting while eating. This resulted in an deep breath which caused her food to be inhaled into her lungs.
Fortunately a waitress and customer knew CPR who kept her "going" for 30 minutes while EMTs arrived. Miraculously she survived after three days of unconscienceness in a hospital.
We really enjoyed our time in Salem with the family and learning about how they relied on their failth to get them through a very tough and delicate time.
