Buellton (Solvane), October 21-23, 2010

We got a chance to visit the little European village of Solvang.  It is very quaint and peaceful.

We enjoyed a fantastic farewell dinner on Friday evening.  Saturday morning we were sent off with a Mexican Breakfast before we all headed in our own directions after an excellent 40-day tour of West Coast America.  Hopefully many of us will cross paths on future RV travels or at Adventure Caravans Reunions.

Morrow Bay, October 19-20

We drove south on CA-1, The Pacific Coast Highway.  What a treat with windy, hilly road!  We made a mid-way stop at Hearst Castle; what a feat of imagination, ingenuity, and construction.

We had a windy 5-mile bus ride to the hill-top and site of the castle.

Monterey, October 16-18

In Monterey we started with a fabulous Fisherman's Wharf evening meal.

Next morning we started our bus tour at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
YES, this is the way jelly fish swim and float.

We also rode down the 17-mile drive between Monterey and Carmel by the Sea.

Mariposa (Yosemite) October 14-15

Yosemite is a spectacular National Park.  Mother nature has heaved up and carved granite in amazing ways.

Fall was beginning while we were here, adding to the beauty.

We had a great two-hour ranger-narrated open tram tour over the floor of the Yosemite valley.

Bridal Veil Falls.
